I would say he’s hit even better than his numbers would suggest,” Boone said of Calhoun, who owns a .246 average and a .742 OPS. “He’s just been a really nice, unexpected piece and an important piece for us as we’ve navigated a lot of injuries.”Calhoun proved pivotal hours later, as his sixth-inning solo shot off Tanner Houck landed a go-ahead blow in a 3-1, series-tying win for the Yankees. The line drive was Calhoun’s fifth home run of the season, and he’s hitting .310 with five doubles, two longballs and eight RBI over his last 12 games.Calhoun has also played in 39 games this season, the most major league action he’s seen since 2021. GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Former President Donald Trump said Saturday night in North Carolina that he would endorse Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson for governor in a move many delegates expect will cement Robinson’s place as the front-runner in a competitive GOP primary and propel him to the governor’s office.Trump threw his support behind the similarly sharp-spoken Robinson at the state GOP convention in Greensboro during one of his first public appearances since he was hit this week with a historic indictment — the first federal case against a former president. Trump said he would save his formal endorsement for another time but told Robinson from the stage, “You can count on it, Mark.” He referred to Robinson as “one of the great stars of the party, one of the great stars in politics.”The former president, meanwhile, faces 37 felony counts for improperly storing in his Florida estate sensitive documents on nuclear capabilities, enlisting aides to help him hide r..."Most importantly, he loved Amelia:" Cook County ME ID's teen couple killed in car crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Energy experts say the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) forecasts peak demand for energy to hit in less than a week if this latest heat wave continues.Doug Lewin, president of Stoic Energy Consulting and author of the Texas Energy and Power Newsletter, said on Twitter that ERCOT's current projection is that demand will reach 81.6 gigawatts on June 15 and 82.1 gigawatts on June 16.“If the forecast holds, we'll set a peak demand record. So, that's a little alarming that the record will be broken in June. It's a record that was set last year on July 20," Lewin said.Despite reaching that same energy usage a month earlier than last year, Lewin said the power grid should be able to withstand demand in the coming days.“We have a lot more solar in the system. Thermal outages like gas, and coal and nuclear plants, they are a little higher than they should be, but nothing too alarming. It looks like a good week for wind as well. STANFORD – All Stanford needed was three more outs to win game one of the college baseball Super Regional against Texas.Instead, it got a jaw-dropping collapse in the top of Saturday’s ninth inning, which started with a three-run Stanford lead.First came two walks and a hit-by-pitch as closer Ryan Bruno loaded the bases. He was then yanked by coach David Esquer in favor of freshman Matt Scott. When the righthander got light-hitting nine-hole hitter Mitchell Daly to fly out to right, he got no help from his team.Right fielder Saborn Campbell muffed the running catch when center fielder Eddie Park flashed in front of him, committing the most notable of Stanford’s three errors and allowing two runs to score.A groundout drove in another, and after a couple walks loaded the bases again, Texas left fielder Porter Brown completed the comeback. He laced the ball into right field, dropping the pitch right in front of Campbell and driving in two more Texas runs.“Coach sa...Latest news
